Workplace Safety - Fall Hazards Training Outline

Almost all workplaces have unprotected areas where falls may occur. If these areas are left unprotected, injuries ranging from sprains to concussions- and even death may occur. In fact, falls represent the leading cause of fatalities in the construction industry and the number three cause of deaths in other industries.

The goal of this course is to help employers and employees learn how to identify potential hazards, reduce the potential for falls, and the requirements for protective devices. This training addresses the requirements for fall protection in construction and other industries. As with other HR Classroom trainings, employers can fully document trainee activity. Your organization’s own policy can also be inserted directly into each training.

    • Anchorage Connectors
  • Equipment inspection guidelines for harnesses and lanyards
  • Fall clearance guidelines and calculations
  • Scaffolds: How to avoid hazards
  • Proper scaffold access methods:
    • Hook-on and attachable ladders
    • Stairway-type ladders
    • Stair towers
    • Built-in scaffold ladders
    • Ramps, walkways and direct access
  • Portable ladders: Safety and usage
  • Quizzes and a final review quiz
